이 연구의 목적은 사회복지사들이 경험한 시간사용의 맥락을 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 연구자들은 서울, 경기지역의 종합사회복지관에 근무하는 사회복지사 15명을 대상으로 심층면접 등을 통해 자료를 수집하고, 수집된 자료를 질적 사례연구 접근으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 사회복지사들의 시간사용 맥락은 4개의 범주와 12개의 하위범주로 구성되었다. 범주와 하위범주들을 구체적으로 살펴보면, ‘정해진 시간을 넘어서게 하는 일들’의 범주는 예상했지만 너무 많은 일들, 예측불가능한 일들, 일에 덧붙여진 일들 등의 하위범주를 포함하였으며, ‘시간의 파이를 조절하는 기준들’은 조직의 기준에 따라 달라짐, 조직 내 분배의 문제, 내가 통제할 수 있는 여지 등의 하위범주로 구성되었고, ‘초과 근로시간의 여파’는 본질에서 멀어짐, 점점 잃어버리게 되는 것들, 소진과 갈등 등의 하위범주로 이루어졌고, ‘시간사용 변화전략’에는 개인 전략, 조직 전략, 제도 변화 등이 포함되었다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여, 사회복지사들의 효율적인 시간사용을 돕기 위한 지침들을 제도, 조직, 개인 차원으로 구분하여 제언하였다. The purpose of this study was to understand the context of time use social workers have experienced. To achieve this purpose, researchers collected data through in-depth interviews with social workers working on a community welfare center and analysed the data using qualitative case study approach. As results of study, the context of time use is composed of four themes and nine sub-themes. Four themes are 'works beyond the pie in a given time', 'standards dividing the pie of time', 'flooding works, swept people' and 'to adjust time pie'. Based on these results, we suggest some guidelines to assist the efficient use of time for social workers.
