이 연구는 다문화가족지원센터가 다문화정책의 중심적 제도로서 정착되고 안정화되면서, 지원 서비스의 대상자인 다문화가족들은 상대적으로 주변화되는 상황에 주목하였다. 한 다문화가족지원센터를 사례로 해서 특정 지역에서 서비스 전달과정에 참여하는 다양한 행위자들을 파악하고 제도화된 조직의 형성과정과 그 안에서 활동하는 행위자들 간의 상호작용을 분석하기 위해서 행위자네트워크(Actor Network Theory: ANT)이론을 분석의 틀로 사용하였다. 참여관찰과 심층면접을 통해 다문화가족지원 행위자 네트워크 상에서 행위자들의 주체적 실천과 이러한 실천행위가 다른 행위자들과의 관계를 어떻게 변화시키고, 행위자들 간의 동원과 정체성을 협상하는지를 파악하였고 다문화가족지원센터가 네트워크의 대변인적 지위를 획득하는 과정을 보여주었다. 이러한 다양한 행위자들 간의 상호작용 속에서 서비스 주요이해당사자인 결혼이주여성과 그 가족들의 주변화, 대상화 과정과 기제도 드러낼 수 있었다. 연구의 함의와 한계점도 논의되었다. This study paid attention to marginalization of multicultural families while the multicultural family support center has been stabilized and gained the status as the institution for multicultural family policy in Korea. This study used Actor Network Theory as the conceptual framework to identify actors involved in the multicultural family support actor network and to analyze the interactions among the actors that supported the stabilization of the multicultural family support center. Observation and in-depth interview was used to investigate how the actors on the multicultural family support actor network interacted with each other in the network and how they mobilize other actors and negotiate their roles and identities, and how the multicultural family support center gained the status of spokesperson of the actor network. The mechanisms of marginalization of marriage migrants and stabilization of the actor network were revealed. Research implications and its limitations were discussed as well.
