사회복지교육 및 실천에서 전문적 관계의 중요성이 강조되어 왔으나 이 관계의 본질이나 속성을 이론화하여 측정하거나 실천에 접목하려는 시도는 드물었다. 본 연구는 사회복지실천의 전문적 관계를 돌봄 관점에서 개념화하고, 돌봄효능감 척도의 사회복지분야 활용 가능성을 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 인접학문의 돌봄 개념에 대한 선행연구를 고찰하는 한편, 간호학에서 개발된 돌봄효능감척도(CES)를 사회복지 실천상황에 맞도록 수정 번안하여, 일반주의 실천을 하는 사회복지사를 대상으로 신뢰도와 타당도를 검증하였다. 확인적 요인 분석결과 1요인, 26문항이 타당성 있는 구조로 확인되었다. 문항분석, 수렴타당도, 공인타당도 검증을 통해 내적 외적 타당도를 확보하였으며, Cronbach’s α값은 .914로 높은 신뢰 수준을 보여주었다. 본 연구에서 사회복지사를 대상으로 검증한 돌봄효능감척도(CES)는 클라이언트와의 전문적 관계에서 사회복지사의 돌봄 태도, 행동 및 이를 표현하는 능력에 대한 자기 확신의 정도를 실증적으로 측정하는 신뢰할만하고 타당한 척도임을 보여준다. Even though the importance of professional relationship has been emphasized in social work education and practice, efforts to theorise and measure the nature of the relationship have been scarce. This study aims to explore the possibility of applying the concept of care into the professional relationship of social work and applying the Caring Efficacy Scale (CES) which was developed in the nursing profession for measuring caring attitude, skills and behavior into the social work profession. In order to do this, the concepts of care in related disciplines were reviewed and the validity test of the CES in a sample of generalist social workers was undertaken. The result of confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the structure of 1 factor and 26 items. The CES affords evidence of internal and external validity within satisfactory ranges. Cronbach's Alpha(.914) identified reliability of the scale. The scale can be used as a method reflective of self-efficacy in relation to caring attitude and behaviors of social workers in the professional relationship with clients.
