본 연구는 청소년이 지각한 부·모애착과 인터넷 중독 및 스마트폰 중독 간의 관계에서 가족의사소통이 매개역할을 하는지 검증하고자 하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 서울 거주 일반계 중학교와 고등학교의 중학생과 고등학생 중 스마트폰을 사용하는 728명을 대상으로 아버지와의 애착 척도, 어머니와의 애착 척도, 가족의사소통 척도, 스마트폰 중독 진단척도, 인터넷 중독 진단척도를 사용하여 그 수준을 측정하였다. 또한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 구조방정식 모형을 설정하고 주요 변인 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 보면, 아버지와 어머니 애착 모두 가족 의사소통을 매개로 인터넷 중독 및 스마트폰 중독에 영향을 미치는 완전 매개 모형이 적합한 모형으로 채택되었다. 즉 청소년들이 지각한 아버지와의 애착 수준이 높을수록 가족의사소통이 원활하며 이는 결국 인터넷 중독과 스마트폰 중독의 수준을 감소시키는데 유의미하게 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 마찬가지로 어머니와의 애착 수준도 가족 의사소통을 높임으로써 결국 인터넷 중독과 스마트폰 중독 수준을 유의미하게 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과를 통해 부·모와의 애착과 가족 내에서의 의사소통 수준이 청소년들의 인터넷 및 스마트폰 중독을 사전에 예방하거나 극복하는데 중요한 역할을 한다고 볼 수 있다. 또한 예방 프로그램이나 극복 프로그램의 개발하는 과정에서도 이들 변인을 고려할 필요가 있음을 시사하고 있다. This study sought to investigate whether levels of family communication had a mediating role between mother and father attachment, and internet and smartphone addiction. 728 male and female students enrolled in middle and high school in the Seoul area answered questionnaire scales on mother and father attachment, family communication, internet addiction, and smartphone addiction. The findings from structural equation modeling indicated that levels of family communication mediated the relationships between parent attachment and internet addiction, and parent attachment and smartphone addiction. The results of this study also indicated that both mother and father attachment affected internet and smartphone addiction through the mediating role of family communication.
