본 연구는 영아기 자녀를 둔 아버지의 부부 간 의사소통이 양육참여에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 부부 간 의사소통과 아버지 양육참여의 관계에서 아버지 양육효능감의 매개효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 수도권에 거주하며 영아기 자녀를 둔 아버지 210명이다. 본 연구에서 수집된 데이터는 통계프로그램(spss 21.0, amos 21.0)으로 분석하였으며, 구조방정식 모형을 통해 매개효과를 검증하였다. 모수추정은 최대우도법(ML: Maximum Likelihood Method)을 사용하였으며, 간접효과의 통계적 유의성은 부트스트래핑(Bootstrapping) 절차에 따라 검증하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부부 간 의사소통과 아버지 양육효능감은 아버지 양육참여에 직접적인 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부부 간 의사소통과 아버지 양육참여의 관계에서 아버지 양육효능감은 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 부부 간 의사소통의 중요성과 아버지 양육참여를 높이기 위한 방안에 대해 논의하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine fathers who have infants to test the mediation effect of father’s parenting efficacy between martial communication and paternal involvement. The participants were 210 fathers who have infants and were residing in the metropolitan area. The data were analyzed using the maximum likelihood estimation. The significance of indirect effect was tested by bootstrapping. The results of this study were as follows: First, the marital communication and fathers’ parenting efficacy that fathers perceived had a direct effect on paternal involvement. Second, fathers’ parenting efficacy mediated between marital communication and paternal involvement. The discussion section includes suggestions for encouraging paternal involvement through positive and effective communication between the mother and father dyad.
