본 연구는 유아의 사회지능 발달에 미치는 자연친화적 헝겊인형놀이의 영향력을 알아보고자 하였다. 실험대상은 울산지역의 6개 유치원에 다니는 만 5세 유아 143명으로 하였고, 인형놀이에 참여한 실험집단 72명, 참여하지 않은 통제집단 70명의 사회지능 차이를 분석하였다. 연구도구는 발도르프 인형을 사용하여, 실험집단과 통제집단을 대상으로 사회지능을 측정하였다. 사회지능의 측정은 정서지능과 놀이표현력 및 또래 유능성의 세 가지로 나누어 각각의 척도로 측정하였다. 연구결과 헝겊인형놀이는 정서지능, 놀이표현력, 또래유능성의 모든 하위변인 발달에 통계적으로 유의한 영향력을 미치고 있었는데, 특히 자기정서조절, 타인정서조절, 신체적 자발성에서는 매우 높은 증가를 보였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 할 때, 놀이감을 취사선택하여 유아에게 제공하는 것이 유아의 사회지능 발달에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 볼 수 있다. 이처럼 본 연구는 유아의 사회지능 발달을 위한 실제적 방법을 제시하였다는 것에 그 가치가 있다. This study attempt to look for the influence doll playing has upon the development of child’s social intelligence. 142 number of five years old children were assembled from six kindergartens in Ulsan as an object of study. Researchers analyzed the difference of social intelligence between experimental group and control group. Experimental group, composed of 71 children, engaged in a doll playing while control group, composed of 71 children, did not. Social intelligence was measured with three sub-categories; emotional intelligence, playing expressiveness, and peer competence. Study results indicate that doll playing has influence upon all the lower factors including emotional intelligence, playing expressiveness, and peer competence. Especially, factors such as an ability to recognize self-emotion, recognize emotions in others and physical spontaneity showed a significant increase. From this result, possibility of natural development of social intelligence can be measured by providing child’s recreation device selectively. This study hold its value since it expanded the practical approach exercising positive influence upon child’s development of social intelligence.
