본 연구는 혼합연령집단의 협동미술활동이 4-5세 유아의 미술성향과 인성에 미치는 효과를 분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 N시 소재 유아교육기관 2곳의 만 4, 5세 유아 61명을 연구대상으로 선정하였으며, 실험집단에는 4, 5세가 함께하는 협동미술활동을, 비교집단에는 연령별 미술활동을 적용하였다. 수집된 자료를 근거로 유아의 미술성향과 인성의 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였으며, 실험처치의 효과와 연령에 따른 차이를 분석하기 위해 두 집단의 사전검사 점수를 공변인으로 한 이원 공변량분석(two-way ANCOVA)과 단순주효과분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 혼합연령집단의 협동미술활동이 유아의 미술성향과 인성 함양에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 혼합연령집단의 협동미술활동이 유아의 예술적 성향을 높이고 인성발달을 돕는 효과적인 교수-학습방법으로 유아교육현장에 적용될 수 있음을 논의하였다. The current research project was aimed at verifying the effectiveness of cooperative art activities upon the development of artistic tendency and character in 4 and 5-year-old children. For this purpose, 61 children (experimental group: 18 children aged 4 and 11 children aged 5; control group: 22 children aged 4 and 10 children aged 5) were selected from two child education institutions located in N city. Cooperative art activities in which 4 and 5-year-old children participated were applied to the experimental group, and art activities by age were applied to the control group. The average and standard deviations of the children's artistic tendency and character were calculated from the collected data and a two-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). A simple main effect analysis was computed using the pretest scores of each subject as the covariate. As a result of the research, it was found that the cooperative art activities of the mixed-age group positively affected the artistic tendency and character of children. It was discussed that the cooperative art activities of mixed-age groups can be applied to the field of early childhood education as an effective teaching-learning method for enhancing the artistic tendency of children and developing their character.
