초록
[영문]Thirty-three women participating in the Diet Modification arm of the Women?s Health Initiative took part in a pilot study to test a real-time diet monitoring and feedback system. The women used hand-held computers to record their food intakes for one month, and received immediate and weekly tailored feedback. The results showed that reported total fat intake and percent energy from fat decreased significantly, and there was a modest decrease in mean caloric intake. The pilot study findings support the largely untapped potential of hand-held computers for improving diet monitoring and diet adherence, particularly within a clinical trial.
