2022 Health and Social Welfare Review Colloquium

KIHASA held the 2022 Health and Social Welfare Review Colloquium on 'Social Well-being and Multi-tier Analysis of Mental Health' at the Press Hall at the Korea Press Center on June 29 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.  In its 7th this year, this colloquium started with Lee Jae Yeol, professor of sociology of Seoul National University, delivering his keynote speech on the main theme. After the keynote speech, there were four presentations: "Covid-19 and Mental Health by Life Cycle," by Hyun Jin Hee, professor of social welfare at Daegu University; "Women's Mental Health: Biological Evidence vs. Social Evidence from an Epidemiological Perspective," by Jeong Sun-jae, professor of Yonsei University's medical school; Social Consequences of, and Community Approach to, the Mental Disease," by Ki Myung, professor of the Korea University Public Health School; and "Expectations and Concerns for Korea's Mental Health Welfare Service Delivery System," by Jeong Jina, research fellow at KIHASA. In the discussion following the presentatios, moderated by Kim Keon-Yeop, professor of Kyungbook National University Medical School, Kam Han-sook, direcor of mental health policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Baek Jong-woo, professor of Kyung Hee University, Sung Joon-mo, professor of social welfare at Nazareth University, and Chae Soo-mi, research fellow at the Center for Psychosocial Health Research at KIHASA participated as discussants.

On this day, award ceremony for excellent papaers, excellent reviewers and mental health ideas contest winners took place. The winners of the excellent paper awards are as follows: Roh Yong-hwan, professor of economics at Seoul Women's University; Lee Joeng-eun, rehabilitation medicine researcher at Seoul National University Hospital; Kim Gye-sook, professor of social welfare at Sogang University: Jegal Jeong, visiting professor of Ewha Womans University School for Clinical Biohealth. The winners of the excellent reviewers are Park Jae Yeon, professor of youth counseling welfare at Daegu University and Kim Hyun-sik, professor of sociology at Kyung Hee University.
