International Symposium on Reform Strategy and Performance Measurement: Toward a Value-Based Health Care System

Thursday, October 26, 2017 - 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Diamon Hall, Intercontinental Seoul COEX

Warm Greetings.

You are warmly invited to the international symposium on 'Reform Strategy and Performance Measurement: Toward a Value-Based Health Care System'.

The sustainability of public health care systems today is at risk with increasing health care costs, driven by factors such as population aging and the increasing burden of chronic diseases, and the shrinking revenue base due to continuing low fertility and sluggish economic growth. Facing the risk, countries like the US, Canada, Japan and the Nordics have been working since the late 1990s on making their health care system more sustainable through innovations designed to improve value for money. Without improving the value generated by the health care system, its sustainability cannot be attained. To that end, a national scheme is essential that measures system performance on a continuous basis and contributes to improving the quality of health care services.

This symposium will be an invaluable venue to share and discuss experiences and challenges of the US, Canada, Japan and Korea in improving value for money through health care system innovations and performance measurement. We look forward to your participation and valuable contribution.
