본 연구는 사회복지관 사례관리팀 편제 이후 사례관리실천이 가져오는 사회복지사의 경험의 의미와 본질을 탐구하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 서울시 사회복지관 사례관리팀 중간관리자 7명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하였고, Giorgi의 기술적 현상학 방법을 적용하여 경험의 본질에 집중하며 현상의 구조를 밝히고 기술하였다. 분석결과, 사례관리실천이 가져오는 사회복지사 경험의 구조는 54개의 의미단위, 13개의 드러난 주제와 6개의 본질적 주제로 도출되었다. 도출된 6개의 본질적 주제는 ‘패러다임의 전환’, ‘댓돌을 뚫는 낙숫물’, ‘확장진통 속 발견’, ‘개미는 작아도 탑을 쌓음’, ‘잠자리는 칠성판’, ‘인생독본’으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 사회복지사들이 사례관리실천에 대한 개념정립을 할 수는 인문학, 철학, 윤리, 가치 등의 교육과 자신을 성찰할 수 있는 다양한 기제 도입, 사례관리 성과개념에 이용자의 관계망 확장을 포함한 정의변경, 사회복지사들의 질적 평가 능력 강화, 사회복지관의 조직체계에 대한 재논의 등을 제안하였다. The purpose of this study is to investigate meaning and essence of social workers' experiences who practice case management in case management team of the community welfare center. The study carries out individual in-depth interview with the total seven social workers, managers of the case management team. It uses Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological research methodology for identifying the structure of phenomenon, focusing on the essence of their experiences. The results from the analysis are fifthfour meaning units, thirteen revealed subjects and six essential subjects. The six essential subjects are expressed in phrases such as ‘paradigm shift’, ‘constant dropping wears the stone’, ‘gains from pains’, ‘Small ants build a tower’, being in danger of death.’, or ‘wisdom of life’. Based on the findings, this study suggests: education of humanity, philosophy, ethics, and value and development training methods to enable social workers to understand the concept and practice of case management, changing definition of the case management outcome to including enlarged networking of clients, strengthening qualitative evaluation ability of social workers, and re-consideration of organizational system in community welfare center.
