본 연구의 목적은 공공복지전달체계에서 근무하는 사회복지담당공무원의 소명의식이 전문성에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 이에 따른 이론적․실천적 함의를 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 대구광역시와 경상북도에서 사회복지업무를 담당하는 지방직 6급~9급(시·도 근무자 제외) 공무원을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였으며, 확보된 315명의 자료를 빈도분석, 기술통계, t-test 및 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 사회복지담당공무원의 소명의식과 전문성 수준은 보통으로 나타났다. 또한 직렬에 따라서 소명의식과 전문성의 차이를 알아본 결과, 사회복지전담공무원이 기타직렬에 비해 더 높은 것으로 나타났으며 전문성에 있어서 통계적 유의미성이 검정되었다. 마지막으로 사회복지담당공무원의 소명의식은 이들의 전문성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 요인임을 확인하였다. 직렬에 따라 살펴보면, 사회복지전담공무원의 경우에는 소명의식의 하위요인인 일 가치감과 이타행동 모두 전문성에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으나, 기타직렬의 경우에는 이타행동만이 유의미한 정적 영향요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 사회복지담당공무원의 소명의식과 전문성 증진을 위한 이론적․정책적 함의에 대하여 논의하였다. The purpose of this study is to draw theoretical and practical conclusions to analyze the effects to the professionalism of public servants working at the public health delivery system. To study this subject, the survey was carried out 315 public servants of social welfare grading from 6 to 9 of local government except for the municipality and province in Daegu Metropolitan City and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province. This study used models of the frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that social welfare officials had the average level of sense of calling and professionalism. Examining the differences between the sense of calling and professionalism according to job category, the public servants of social welfare tested statistical significance that they had higher statistical results than other categorized public servants. Finally, it confirmed that the calling of social officials influenced positively their professionalism. Social welfare officials had positive effects of their professionalism from job value and altruism which are sub-factors of calling. But, other categories of public servants were affected by the only altruism of their professionalism as a statistical significance. Based on the outcomes, the research discussed the theoretical and practical implications to improve the sense of calling and professionalism of public servants of social welfare.
