본 연구는 의료사회복지사 역할의 기대수준과 수행수준 사이의 불일치는 의료사회복지사 7대 직무 별로 어떠하며, 역할 불일치가 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 확인하고 이에 대한 사회복지적 함의를 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 대한의료사회복지사협회 소속 의료사회복지사 198명을 대상으로 이들의 7개 대표 직무에 대한 기대수준과 수행수준을 측정하였고, 두 수준 간 차이가 직무만족에 미치는 영향을 다중회귀분석을 통하여 검증하였다. 연구결과, 의료사회복지사들이 가장 중요하게 생각하는 직무는 “경제적 문제해결”이었으며, 이는 실제로도 가장 많이 수행하는 업무인 것으로 나타났다. 기대수준과 수행수준간의 역할 불일치 정도는 “교육 및 연구조사”직무가 가장 높은 것으로 나타났고, 그 다음으로 “Team Approach”의 역할 불일치 수준이 높았다. 회귀분석 결과, “경제적 문제해결”직무의 기대수준과 수행수준의 역할 불일치는 직무만족에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 의료사회복지사의 직무별 기대수준과 수행수준간의 차이를 줄일 수 있는 방안을 함의로 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of role discrepancy between ideal and actual role of medical social workers on their job satisfaction, and suggest social welfare intervention. For this purpose, 189 medical social workers who belong to the Korean Association of Medical Social Workers (KAMSW) were participated, and performed multiple regression about the effect of role discrepancy on job satisfaction. From the result, the most ideal role of medical social workers was 'Solving economic problems', and it was also the most actually performed role. Next, the role that showed the biggest gap between actual and ideal role was 'Education and Research', followed by 'Team Approach' and 'Discharge and rehabilitation'. In multiple regression analysis, the role discrepancy of 'Solving economic problem' was negatively affected to job satisfaction. Based on these results, social work implications were suggested to reduce the role discrepancy between ideal and actual role of medical social worker.
