본 연구는 자기회귀 교차지연 모형(auto regressive cross-lagged model)을 적용하여 청소년의 휴대전화의존과 공동체의식 간의 종단적 상호관계를 탐색하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원(NYPI)에서 2010년부터 중학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 매년 추적조사를 실시한 한국아동청소년패널조사(KCYPS)의 패널데이터를 사용하였다. 1차 시점(2010년, 중1)에서 3차 시점(2012년, 중3), 5차 시점(2014년, 고2)에 이르는 기간 동안 중학교 1학년 청소년을 대상으로 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 1차와 3차 시점 간 청소년 공동체의식과 휴대전화의존의 자기회귀효과는 통계적으로 유의하였고 3차와 5차 시점 간 청소년의 공동체의식과 휴대전화의존의 자기회귀효과 역시 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 둘째, 교차지연효과에서는 1차 시점의 공동체의식은 3차 시점의 휴대전화의존을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하였고, 3차 시점의 공동체의식 역시 5차 시점의 휴대전화의존을 유의하게 예측하였다. 그러나 1차 시점의 휴대전화의존은 3차 시점의 공동체의식을 통계적으로 유의하게 예측하지 못하였고, 3차 시점의 휴대전화의존 역시 5차 시점의 공동체의식을 유의하게 예측하지 못하였다. 즉, 청소년의 공동체의식은 이후 시점의 휴대전화의존에 대하여 통계적으로 유의한 교차지연효과가 나타났으나, 청소년의 휴대전화의존은 이후 시점의 공동체의식에 대하여 통계적으로 유의한 교차지연 효과가 나타나지 않았다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 청소년기의 휴대전화의존에 대한 예방과 개입을 위한 요인으로서 청소년의 공동체의식에 대한 중요성이 강조되었다. 본 연구의 의의와 제한점이 논의되었다. The purpose of this study was to examine the reciprocal relationship between a sense of community and mobile phone dependency amongst adolescents through an autoregressive cross-lagged model. The data for the adolescents was taken from the Korean Children qqqamp; Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS), and the data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. Our results suggested that both a prior sense of community and mobile phone dependency had significant effects on the subsequent sense of community and mobile phone dependency, respectively. Although prior mobile phone dependency did not affect a subsequent sense of community, a prior sense of community affected subsequent mobile phone dependency. The sense of community was emphasized as a factor which can prevent and interfere with mobile phone dependency amongst adolescence. Both the implications and limitations of this study were also discussed.
