본 연구는 가계동향조사 자료를 이용하여 1, 2인 가구가 전체 소득불평등도에 미치는 효과를 엔트로피지수(GE(0))를 이용하여 2006년부터 2013년까지 분석하였다. 주요 분석결과는 첫째, 1인 가구의 전체 소득불평등도에 대한 영향은 점차 증가하는 양상을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 1인 여성가구주의 경우 주로 고령자이며, 소득 수준은 다른 유형의 가구에 비해 현저하게 낮았다. 둘째, 2인 가구의 전체 소득불평등도에 대한 영향은 U자형을 보여주고 있는데, 2008년 이후 점차 증가하는 것이라고 볼 수 있다. 특히, 2인 가구의 남성가구주 연령이 여성 가구주 연령 보다 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 눈여겨볼 부분은 기초노령연금과 사회적 현물이전이 1인 가구집단에서는 해당 집단의 소득불평등도를 악화시키고 있지만, 2인 가구집단에서는 해당 집단의 소득불평등도를 개선시키는 것으로 나타났다는 것이다. 셋째, 3인 이상 가구의 경우 해당 집단의 소득불평등도를 완화시켜 전체 소득불평등도에 대한 기여도는 지속적으로 감소하며, 기초노령연금에 의한 해당 집단의 소득불평등도 개선 효과가 나타났다. 이상에서 소득불평등도를 완화하기 위해서는 1, 2인 가구 중 저소득층 가구들의 소득 증진을 위한 정책적인 배려가 필요하다는 사실을 도출하였다. This study investigates the effect of 1 or 2 household on the total inequality with Generalized Entropy index, using 2006-2013 Household Income and Expenditure Survey. Main findings are as follows: First, 1-member household head are usually old-aged people, and their income is lower than the other type of households if they are female, its effect on the total inequality have been increasing. Second, the effect of 2-family member household on total income inequality shows the U-shaped curve and we say that the effect has been increasing since 2008. Male head age is more than female in 2-membered household. It is noteworthy that the basic old-aged pension and social transfer in-kind deteriorates a within-group inequality of the 1-membered households, but the 2-membered households does not. Third, 3 and more-membered households improves total income inequality and also the basic old-aged pension does. These findings give us policy implications, i.e., support for the income maintenance policy more than now to 1 or 2-household.
