이 연구는 국내에서 진행된 다문화 관련 연구의 동향을 규명하기 위하여 1990년대부터 2016년까지 발행된 다문화 연구 논문의 초록을 분석하였다. 비정형자료인 논문 초록을 분석하기 위해 먼저 텍스트 마이닝 기법을 이용하였으며, 이후 다문화 연구의 토픽을 추출하기 위해 LDA기법과 텍스트 연결망 분석 방법을 순차적으로 적용하였다. 이번 연구의 결과를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국의 다문화 연구는 교육, 이주, 정책 토픽을 중심으로 논의가 전개되었다. 둘째, 다문화 연구의시기에 따라 세부 주제 및 연구대상, 연구방향의 변화가 관찰되었다. 교육 토픽의 경우 이주 2세대의 성장에 따라 연구대상의 차이가 나타났으며, 이주 토픽의 경우 연구가 진행됨에 따라 외국인 노동자와 결혼이주여성에 대한 구분과 함께 각기 다른 내용의 연구가 진행되는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 정책 토픽의 경우 초기 정책적 필요성에 강조하는 연구들에서 구체적 실천 방안에 대한논의로 변화하고 있음이 나타났다. 연구 결과를 종합할 때 앞으로의 다문화 연구는 이주 2세대의성장에 따라 노동시장의 변화, 사회갈등, 이주민 지역기반 연구 등 새로운 학문적 논의가 전개될것으로 예상된다. This study analyzed the abstracts of multicultural research papers published from the 1990s to 2016 in order to trends in multicultural research conducted in Korea. Text mining techniques were first used to analyze the abstract of papers, which were unstructured data, and then LDA techniques and the method of analysis of text network were applied sequentially to extract topics from multicultural studies. First, multicultural studies in Korea were discussed with emphasis on education, migration, and policy topics. Second, according to the timing of multicultural research, changes in subjects and research directions were observed. In the case of educational topics, there was a difference in the research subjects according to the growth of the second generation of migrants. In migrant topics, studies on the different contents were carried out with the division of foreign workers and married immigrant women. Finally, in policy topics, it has been shown that the emphasis on the initial policy needs is shifting from discussions to concrete action plans. As a result, it is expected that future multicultural research will develop new academic debates such as labor market changes, social conflicts, and migrant - based research in accordance with the growth of the second generation migration.
