본 연구는 부모가 사별을 경험한 유아의 애도과정을 측정하기 위하여 외국의 애도과정 측정도구를 국내의 문화적 수준과 유아의 연령적 수준을 고려하여 수정보완한 후 국내 유아의 애도과정을 측정하는 검사도구로 타당화하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 검사는 서울, 경상도, 전라도 지역의 10개 유치원과 어린이집의 만 4～5세 유아의 부모 257명을 연구대상으로 하였고, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 구조모형 분석 프로그램을 통해 분석하였다. 본 검사도구는 외국의 애도 측정도구를 가지고 유아 전문가들로부터 내용타당도 검증을 받고, 예비검사와 본검사를 한 후 문항양호도, 신뢰도와 타당도(탐색적, 확인적)를 분석하여 유아의 애도과정을 평가하는데 타당한 도구임을 입증하였다. 이를 통해, ‘고인에 대한 대화/표출형 감정반응(부모)/자유로운 감정표출/개방적 장례의식/부정적 변화(부모)/억압적 반응’의 6가지 하위요인에 34문항을 갖춘 ’부모용 유아 애도과정 척도‘로 최종적 타당화가 이뤄졌다. 본 척도는 사별을 경험한 유아에게 어떠한 애도의 기회가 제공되는지를 파악하는데 기여하게 될 것이다. The aim of this study was to validate a rating scale named “Parents Checking Mourning Rating Scale for Young Children” which can evaluate young children's process of mourning for a loved one. To secure the validity of the Mourning Rating Scale for Young Children as a proper tool, the participants, 257 parents of 4 to 5-year-old children from 10 kindergartens and day-care centers, participated in a field test. The data were analyzed by using the SPSS 18.0 and AMOS programs. The Mourning Rating Scale for Young Children, based on a foreign country's rating scale, was tested for content validity and preliminary/real examination by professionals in the Early Childhood Department and young children's parents. Finally, the 'Parents Checking the Mourning Rating Scale for Young Children' of six factors (conversation about the dead, releasing emotional reactions; for parents, free emotional expression, open minded funeral consciousness, negative change; for parents, pressured reactions) with 34 items was verified through the process of validation and reliability as a mourning rating scale to check young children's mourning process. This scale will become a useful tool to find out what kind of mourning process young children go through.
