본 연구는 영아의 기질 및 사회적 지원에 따른 아버지의 양육참여가 어머니의 양육스트레스에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 살펴보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 육아정책연구소에서 시행한 한국아동패널연구(PSKC) 3차년도 자료(23개월에서 31개월에 해당하는 남녀 영아 1,802명과 그 가족)를 활용하였다. 본 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영아의 기질, 사회적 지원, 아버지의 양육참여, 그리고 어머니의 양육스트레스 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 영아의 기질은 사회적 지원과 어머니의 양육스트레스 간의 유의미한 상관이, 사회적 지원은 아버지의 양육참여와 어머니의 양육스트레스 간, 아버지의 양육참여와 어머니의 양육스트레스 간의 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 둘째, 영아의 기질과 사회적 지원은 어머니의 양육스트레스에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아버지의 양육참여를 매개 변인으로 했을 경우에는 사회적 지원이 많을수록 아버지의 양육참여를 높이고, 어머니의 양육스트레스를 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. This purpose of this study are to identify the effects of paternal involvement in parenting according to the infant temperament and social support on maternal stress in parenting. The third annual data of Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) (1,802 children - both boys and girls - of ages between 23 months and 31 months and their families) conducted by the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education was utilized as the subject of the study. The results of the study are as follows. First, upon analyzing the correlation between infant temperament, social support, paternal involvement and maternal parenting stress, infant temperament has a significant correlation between social support and maternal parenting stress. Social support has a significant correlation between paternal parenting involvement and maternal parenting stress. Second, in the case that paternal parenting involvement is the mediator variable, the effect of social support is greater than infant temperament on maternal parenting stress.
