본 연구는 교육적 산물이 풍부한 스마트사회에서 자연발생적으로 산출된 뒤집힌 교실(flipped classroom)의 의미를 살펴본다. 그리고 세계적으로 교육개혁에 영향을 주는 미국 국가공통기준(CCSS)에서 강조되는 언어 기준이 다른 영역에서도 강조되므로, 이에 비추어 우리나라에서 적용 가능한 언어-수학 융합의 방향을 모색한다. 뒤집힌 교실(flipped classroom)은 기존의 강의중심과 교사중심에서 탈피한 것으로서 학습자는 집에서 온라인 혹은 흥미 있는 자료를 보고 지식을 구성하며, 학교에서는 실험이나 프로젝트를 진행하는 학습자 중심의 교실 상황을 만들어가는 것이다. 이는 컴퓨터를 활용한 온라인 수업이 가능하여 생성된 자연발생적 미디어 세계의 구성주의 프로그램의 성격이 있다. 그리고 교육비 절감, 생산성 향상을 위한 장점이 있기 때문에 꾸준히 연구되고 실제로 이루어지는 장점이 있는 자연발생적 실천 모형이다. 이 교육 방안은 아직 전통적 방법에 익숙한 우리나라에서 특히 유아단계에서 언어교육이 질적으로 이루어질 수 있도록 연구되어, 초등학교에 들어가서 스토리텔링 수학과의 연계성(articulation)을 위해서 추진될 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 뒤집힌 교실의 의미와 다양성을 살펴보고, 2014년부터 실시되고 있는 미국 국가공통기준(CCSS)에서 언어 기준을 살펴보며, 자연히 언어-수학 융합교육의 방향이 모색된다. 이에 의거한 연구 결과는 유아교육과 초등학교를 연계하는 언어-수학 융합교육 방향이 산출될 수 있어 그 모형을 구상하여 예시한다. 이는 초등학교 1학년에서 실시되는 스토리텔링 수학으로 접근을 쉽게 하여 유아들이 좌절하지 않게 하는 효과를 기대한다. This study’s aim is to find out the significance of a “flipped classroom,” which was developed due to smart society's rich internet products. The study also tried to find out if Korean kindergartens could find a direction for a language arts-math blended model based on a flipped classroom the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) were reviewed for the study. A flipped classroom is called as such because the whole classroom paradigm is “flipped.” What used to be classroom work is done at home via interesting internet materials to construct knowledge, and then children engage in hands-on experiments or projects at school as part of the ongoing curriculum. Because the flipped classroom uses on-line student-centered learning, it's characteristic aspect has a constructive viewpoint. Because it has the advantages of saving expenses and increasing productivity, the flipped classroom is an experimental model. It can be utilized at the kindergarten level in conjunction with storytelling math especially for promoting kindergarten-elementary school articulation. Therefore as the meaning of a flipped classroom is examined, the ways of a flipped classroom and language arts standards in the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are examined, and then a language arts-math blended model can be found. Based on the study, a case is drawn and presented for the direction of a language arts-math blended model.
