본 연구는 다문화 가정 유아의 이중언어 교육에 대한 유아교사 인식에 관하여 조사하기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 충북의 C시에 소재한 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하는 118명의 유아교사들이 참여하였으며 질문지법을 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료 중 구조화된 질문들은 빈도분석을 시행하였으며, 반구조화된 질문의 경우 유형별로 분류하여 제시하였다. 연구결과 유아교사들은 이중언어 습득이 가능하다고 보았으나 과반수의 유아교사들은 이중언어습득이 유아의 언어발달에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 인식하고 있었으며 다문화 가정 유아의 이중언어 습득여부에 대하여 민감성이 높지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 다문화 가정 유아를 위한 이중언어 교육프로그램의 필요성을 인식하는 것보다는 한국어를 교육하는 프로그램의 필요성에 대하여 높이 인식하고 있었으며, 유아는 한국어를 처음 배운 후 다문화 언어를 배워야 한다고 인식하고 있었다. 마지막으로, 유아교사들은 다문화 가정 유아에게 한국어와 다문화 언어를 가르치는 주체를 다문화센터와 다문화 가정이어야 한다고 믿고 있었다. The purpose of this study is to examine how teacher for young children perceive bilingual education of young children who have immigrant parents. 118 teachers who work at preschool and kindergarten in C city, Chungcheongbuk-do were participants. To collect data, the survey method was used. The survey was designed of semi-structured questions and structured questions. The semi-structured data were categorized based on the theme and the structured data were analyzed using frequency and percentage. The results are as follows: 1) About 50% of teachers are negative toward the possibility of bilingual education. 2) Teachers have low sensitivity toward multicultural children’s foreign language acquisition. 3) Teachers perceive the necessity of bilingual program but they also children should learn Korean first. 4) Teachers perceive the multicultural family center and multicultural families have primary responsibility for multiculral children’s bilingual education.
