본 연구는 영유아교사의 성격강점과 자기결정성이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향과 자기결정성의 매개효과를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울경기 및 충청 소재 영유아기관 교사 214명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 영유아교사의 성격강점과 자기결정성이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향관계를 파악하기 위해 Pearson 상관분석을 실시하였고, 자기결정성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 Baron과 Kenny(1986)가 제안한 절차에 따라 위계적 회귀분석과 S obel test를 실시하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영유아교사의 성격강점, 자기결정성은 삶의 만족도와 상관이 있었다. 둘째, 성격강점 중 정의와 인간애 그리고 자기결정성의 유능성은 삶의 만족도에 정적인 영향을 주었다. 그러나 성격강점 중 초월성, 지혜, 지식과 자기결정성의 관계성은 삶의 만족도에 부적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 영유아교사의 자기결정성은 성격강점과 삶의 만족도의 관계에 있어서 부분매개효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 영유아교사의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 미치는 성격강점변인에 대한 이해를 확장시키고, 자기결정성을 매개로 한 교사교육 프로그램 개발에 유용한 기초자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of character, self-determination on life satisfaction in early childhood teacher and finally to examine the mediating effects of self-determination between character and life satisfaction. For this, we conducted survey to ask about those for early childhood teacher in Seoul metropolitan and Chung-chong region then collected about 214. The collected dates was analyzed using by Pearson’s correlation analysis, Hierarchial regression analysis and examining the mediating effects of self-determination. The results from this are as follows. First, It revealed that the character, self-determination and life satisfaction of early childhood teacher are related each other. Second, the factor which influenced on life satisfaction was the justice, humanity of the character and competence of self-determination strongly in a order. On the other hand, the factor which negatively influenced on life satisfaction was the wisdom qqqamp; Knowledge and The transcendence of the character and also relatedness of the self-determination. In conclusion, the process positively considering the competence of self-determination for using character strength effectively need to put into the educational program, training for teacher and pre-teacher course and also it can help to improve their life satisfaction for early childhood teachers.
