초록
[영문]This work reports on determinants of health-care access among welfare recipients in Kentucky, focusing on predisposing, enabling, and need factors. A multivariate model is used to identify the clients who are most likely to experience access problems. The model is tested with a full sample, a subgroup of respondents who voluntarily left welfare before reaching the federal time limit, and a group that had reached the time limit. Results suggest that independent predictors of access problems include lack of health insurance, leaving welfare before reaching the time limit, financial stress, food insecurity, chronic illness, and poor or fair perceived mental health status. Predictors for the group that left before the time limit vary from those for the group that reached the time limit.
