본 연구는 빈곤여부에 따른 여성가구주의 생활만족도 차이를 살펴보고, 영향 요인으로서 성역할인식과 자원봉사활동을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 데이터를 활용한 2차 자료를 활용하여 1차년부터 9차년 데이터를 이용하였으며 2006년 1차년도 데이터를 기준으로 표집 된 여성가구주 1,721명을 최종분석에 사용하였다. 자료분석은 기술통계분석, 상호작용효과 검증, 임의효과패널회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 빈곤여부와 성역할인식, 자원봉사활동, 혼인상태, 거주지역, 근로여부, 자녀수, 교육수준이 여성가구주의 생활만족도와 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났으며, 성역할 인식은 여성가구주의 빈곤과 생활만족도 사이의 부적관계를 상쇄하는 효과가 있는 반면 자원봉사활동 경험은 여성가구주의 빈곤과 생활만족도 사이의 부적관계에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다. 이에 본 연구는 여성가구주의 성역할인식 차원에서 양성평등적 인식을 확산시키는 것이 중요하며, 무엇보다 경제적 지원의 동반 및 정책 마련의 필요성을 시사한다. This study is to examine the relationship between life satisfaction and poverty status of female householders and to explore the function of gender role perception and volunteer activities in the relationship. We used data of 1,721 female householders from the Korean Welfare Panel Study(KOWEPS), waves 1 through 9, to conduct the secondary data analysis. We conducted a series of descriptive analysis, tests of interaction effects, and random-effect panel regression analysis. Results showed that female householder’s life satisfaction was associated with poverty status, gender role perception, volunteer activity, marital status, residential region, employment status, number of children, and education level. Furthermore, patriarch gender role perception attenuated the negative relationship between poverty status and life satisfaction while volunteer activities did not influence the relationship between the same variables. This study suggests that it is important to enhance gender equality in gender role perception, which should be accompanied by financial assistance programs as well.
