본 연구는 중년 장애인의 경제활동참여 변화유형을 분석하고, 각 유형별 영향요인이 무엇인지를 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 이를 위해 장애인고용패널 1차년도(2008년)~8차년도(2015년) 자료를 활용하여 40세 이상 59세 이하 중년 장애인 2,496명을 중년초기(40~49세) 963명, 중년후기(50~59세) 1,529명의 두 집단으로 구분하였고, 집단중심추세분석을 통해 경제활동참여 변화유형을 분석하였다. 그리고 다항로지스틱분석을 통해 개인 및 가족관련, 장애 및 건강관련, 인적자본, 심리사회 요인들이 각 경제활동참여 변화유형에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 주요 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년초기 장애인의 경제활동참여 변화유형은 ‘비경활 유지형’, ‘실업에서 비경활 진입형’, ‘비경활에서 자영업 진입형’, ‘자영업 유지형’, ‘상용근로 유지형’의 5가지 유형으로 구분되었다. 또한 중년후기 장애인의 경제활동참여 변화유형은 ‘비경활 유지형’, ‘무급가족종사 유지형’, ‘자영업에서 비경활 진입형’, ‘자영업 유지형’, ‘상용근로 유지형’의 5가지 유형으로 구분되었다. 둘째, 중년 장애인의 경제활동참여 변화유형에 영향을 미치는 요인들은 성별, 기초생활수급, 노후준비, 일상생활도움필요, 만성질병보유, 자아존중감 등으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과에 기초하여 중년 장애인의 경제활동참여 장려 및 유지를 돕기 위한 지원방안을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine the changing patterns of economic activities in a group of middle-aged persons with disabilities. Also, examined the predictive variables related to each changing patterns of economic activities. The Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED) of 8 waves from 2008 to 2015 data-sets were used for this study. The middle-aged persons with disabilities divided into two group: the early middle-aged (age from 40 to 49) and later middle-aged (age from 50 to 59) for analysis, and group-based trajectory analysis and multinomial logistic analysis method were performed. The main results were as follows. First, among the early middle-aged group’s changing patterns of economic activity were divided into five types: ‘continuous economical-inactive,’ ‘from underemployed to economical-inactive,’ ‘from economical-inactive to self-employed,’ ‘continuous self-employed,’ and ‘continuous fully-employed.’ Among the later middle-aged group’s changing patterns of economic activity were divided into five types: ‘continuous economical-inactive,’ ‘continuous unpaid family work,’ ‘from self-employed to economical-inactive,’ ‘continuous self-employed,’ and ‘continuous fully-employed.’ Second, changing patterns of economic activities in middle-age persons with disabilities were related to the factors of gender, social security assistance, self-esteem, the experience of discrimination in work, and so on. Based on the results, this study suggested the improving ways on employment of middle-aged persons with disabilities.
