[영문]Collective efficacy describes residents’ perceptions regarding their ability towork with their neighbors to intervene in neighborhood issues to maintainsocial control and solve problems. This study examines whether citizenparticipation in neighborhood organizations located in poor communitiesis related to neighborhood and organizational collective efficacy amongresidents. The results indicate that the more residents participated intheir neighborhood organization, the greater their level of organizationalcollective efficacy, but not neighborhood collective efficacy. The results ofthe current study will help support social workers and other communitypractitioners understand how to effectively facilitate citizen participationin ways that enhance collective efficacy in poor communities. Implicationsfor social work practice and research are discussed
