본 연구는 여성관리자의 고용유지 및 소득이 남성 배우자의 근로활동및 소득에 어느 정도 의존하고 있는지에 대해 실증분석을 하였다. 분석자료는 100인 이상 기업의 인사담당자 및 대리급 이상 여성관리자를 대상으로 하는 한국여성정책연구원의 ‘여성관리자패널자료’이다. 먼저, 여성관리자의 고용 유지 여부에는 남성 배우자의 소득수준에 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 분석되었으나 조기퇴직이 예상될 경우 여성의 고용 유지도 높아지는경향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 남성배우자의 조기퇴직이 예상되면 여성의 경제활동은 지속 혹은 강화될 것임을 시사한다고 하겠다. 다음으로여성관리자의 소득에 미치는 주요 변수인 남성 배우자의 소득수준과 조기퇴직예상 변수를 살펴본 결과, 두 변수 모두 여성관리자의 소득을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 여성관리자의 소득수준 결정에 있어 대체성이 존재하지 않는다는 점에서 여성은 가정, 남성은 직장이라는 전통적인 여성의 경제활동과는 다른 특성을 보였다. 다만, 남성배우자의 조기퇴직이 예상되면 여성관리자는 소득 증대를 위한 경제활동이 더 강화될 수 있는 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 결과를 정리하면, 여성관리자의 경우 남성 배우자와 소득활동에 있어서 독립적이고 상호 대등한 관계에 있다가 남성배우자가 조기퇴직이 예상될 경우 경제활동을 더욱 강화하게 될 것으로 예상할수 있다. This study analyzed the degree of dependence of female managers on the work and economic power of male spouses using the Korean Women Manager Panel(KWMP) data in Korea. In this study, the dependence of work is examined in two aspects, the sustainability of work for women managers and the level of income change. According to the result, the duration of work activity(early retirement expectation variables) of male spouses was found to affect the sustainability of women’s work. In addition, The income level of the spouse has a significant effect on the income increase of the female manager. Also, it was estimated that the spouse's early retirement expectation variables increased the income of female managers. In the case of female managers, it can be seen that the working status and income status of male spouses act in a mutually equal relationship.
