이 연구에서는 평생진로 발달의 관점에서 청소년들의 흥미와 적성을 바탕으로 자신의 소질을 발굴하고 이를 발전시켜 나감으로써 자신의 가치를 높이는 진로개발역량의 정의 및 세부지표를 개발하고자 하였다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해서, 국내외 청소년 진로개발역량 관련 선행연구를 조사․분석함으로써 진로개발역량의 정의 및 세부지표를 개발하였고 개발한 진로개발역량의 구성체계의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 전문가 패널 및 중고등학생 대상으로 타당성 조사를 실시하였다. 전문가 패널 대상 진로개발역량지수의 타당성 조사는 청소년 관련 전문가 총 28명으로 구성하여 2차에 걸쳐 진행하였다. 전문가 패널 대상 타당성 조사를 통해 수정․보완된 진로개발역량지수의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 중고등학생을 대상으로 타당성 조사를 실시하였다. 타당성 조사에 참여한 연구대상은 서울, 경기, 인천지역 중고등학생 719명이었다. 연구결과 총 9개의 세부지표가 개발되었는데 진로설계역량의 세부지표로는 자기이해, 진로 및 직업 탐색, 진로결정능력, 여가활용역량의 세부지표로는 여가필요성 인식, 여가 조절, 여가 몰입, 개척정신의 세부지표로는 차별화 태도, 도전정신, 위험감수가 도출되었다. 이 연구에서 수행한 진로개발역량 및 지표는 그동안 유사 다른 선행연구보다는 사회적 변화 및 청소년들의 특성을 반영하여 보다 폭넓은 관점에서 접근하고, 청소년 학계 및 청소년 관련 현장전문가들의 의견을 종합적으로 반영하여 합의를 도출된 결과이기에 보다 보편성을 확보할 수 있는 청소년 진로개발역량지수라는 점에서 연구의 의의가 있겠다. 이 연구의 결과는 향후 청소년들의 진로개발 관련 다양한 체험활동 및 정책을 수립하는데 기초자료를 제공해 주리라 기대된다. Many researchers have undertaken work to develop competencies related to youth careers due to the increasingly highlighted importance of these particular areas of competence. However, there have been a number of limitations in this previous work in career development competencies; chiefly the fact that such work has not reflected current youth characteristics and social changes. This is mainly because the previous studies have dealt with “career” as the notion which is focused largely on the idea of “jobs.” Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop indicators for assessing youth career development competence from the perspective of lifelong career development. To achieve this research aim, the indicators for assessing career development competence were drawn up from a systemic literature review and they were then validated and modified by the expert review method and finally developed into two surveys targeting youth. 28 youth experts participated in the expert review. The participants comprised 333 middle or high school students for the first survey and 791 middle or high school students for the second survey. In terms of results, nine indicators were developed: self-exploration, career and job exploration and career decision ability for assessing career design competency, needs for leisure, leisure control, leisure commitment for assessing leisure use, attitude for differentiation, challenge spirit, and risk-taking for assessing the pioneer spirit. The results of this study will provide the fundamental guidelines for developing various activities and establishing youth policies related to youth career development.
