본 연구의 목적은 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 사회적 자본이 학교적응에 미치는 영향을 검증함에 있다. 이를 위하여 지역아동센터 중앙지원단에서 실시한 지역아동센터 패널조사의 2기패널 1차(2014) 원자료를 활용하였으며, 부모-자녀관계를 보기 위하여 조사에 참여한 지역아동센터 아동 가운데 양부모 또는 한부모 가정 아동 574명의 자료를 분석에 사용하였다. 자료분석을 위하여 위계적 회귀분석 등을 활용하였으며, 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지역아동센터 아동은 자신의 학교적응 수준을 적응하는 편으로 보았으며, 부모-자녀관계, 또래관계, 지역사회인식, 공동체의식에 있어 전반적으로 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 성별에 따른 차이는 여아가 남아보다 학교적응, 부모 대화, 공동체의식에 있어 긍정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 지역아동센터 아동의 학교적응, 부모-자녀 관계, 또래 관계, 지역사회인식 및 공동체의식 간 상관관계를 살펴본 결과, 아동의 학교적응은 부모-자녀 관계 요인, 또래 관계 요인, 지역사회인식, 공동체의식과 모두 정적으로 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 지역아동센터 아동의 학교적응에 대한 최종회귀모형의 전체 설명력은 약 50%이었으며, 미시적 사회적 자본 가운데 부모-자녀관계 요인, 또래관계 요인 순으로 설명력이 높았고, 이어서 중시적 사회적 자본요인인 지역사회인식, 거시적 사회적 자본 요인인 공동체의식 순으로 아동의 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 지역아동센터 이용 아동의 학교적응 향상을 위한 정책적․실천적 제언을 하고자 하였다. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of social capital on the school adaptation of children in a community child care center. The data of 574 elementary school students using community child care service from the Community Child Center Children Panel Survey(2014), conducted by the Headquarters for Community Child Centers, were used. The data were analyzed by means of correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. The main results were as follows. First, children in community child care centers reported themselves to be adaptive at school and rated their relationships with parents and peers, perceptions of the local community, and their sense of community positively. There were significant gender differences in school adaptation, parent communication, and the sense of community. Second, children’s levels of school adaptation were positively related to all the independent variables. Third, micro(in home and out of home), meso, macro levels of social capital predicted the school adaptation abilities of children in community child care centers. These findings may provide grounds for providing proper services for children in community child care centers.
