연구목적: 사회적 배제의 개념 중에서 가구 소득 등의 경제적 요인을 제외하고, 비경제적 사회적 배제의 경험이 아동의 자아존중감에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 그리고 그 관계에서 우울⋅불안과 위축이 매개효과를 가지는지 실증적으로 살펴보는 것이다. 방법: 한국복지패널 7차년도 자료를 활용하여 구조방정식 모형을 통해 아동의 비경제적 사회적 배제, 우울⋅불안, 위축, 자아존중감 간의 관계를 분석하였다. 결과: 아동이 경험한 비경제적 사회적 배제는 자아존중감에 유의한 부적(-) 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 비경제적 사회적 배제와 자아존중감 간의 관계에서 우울⋅불안과 위축은 모두 매개효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론: 아동의 비경제적 사회적 배제를 예방하고 아동의 자아존중감 향상을 위해 학교생활지원, 가족관계 개선, 아동의 심리⋅정서적 건강 증진 등을 위한 다차원적 지원방안을 논의하였다. Objectives: This study aims to examine empirically the effects of non-economic social exclusion on children’s self-esteem and the mediating effects of depression⋅anxiety and withdrawal. Methods: The analysis was conducted with data from the 7th wave of Korea Welfare Panel Study. We used structural equation modeling to examine the relationship among children’s non-economic social exclusion, depression⋅anxiety, withdrawal, and self–esteem. Results: The results showed that non-economic social exclusion had a negative effect on children’s self-esteem. The mediating effects of depression⋅anxiety and withdrawal showed to be statistically significant. Conclusion: We discussed multidimensional support for school life support, improvement of family relationship, and improvement of psychological and emotional health of children in order to prevent child’s non-economic social exclusion and improve self-esteem.
