The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of negative parenting attitude of parents on the externalizing problem of adolescent children, and to verify whether grit and self-esteem have a mediation effect between the two variables. This study utilized the data from the Korea Youth Panel 2018 for analysis, and the data from 2,384 middle school students were used for statistical analysis. The data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results of this study were as follows: The negative parenting attitude of parents was found to have a direct effect on the externalizing problem of their adolescent children. Our analysis found that grit and self-esteem, which are parameters, have a partial mediating effect on the externalizing problem of adolescents. Based on the results, this study suggested social welfare policy and practical implications for better growth and support of adolescents.
본 연구의 목적은 부모의 부정적 양육태도가 청소년의 외현화 문제에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 두 변인 사이에서 그릿과 자아존중감이 매개효과를 갖는지 검증하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 한국청소년패널 2018 자료를 활용하여 분석하였고, 최종적으로 중학생 2,384명의 자료를 통계 분석에 활용하였다. 구조방정식을 활용하여 모형을 분석하였으며, 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 부모의 부정적 양육태도는 청소년의 외현화 문제에 직접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그릿과 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 부모의 부정적 양육태도와 청소년의 외현화 문제와의 관계를 부분매개한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 청소년의 보다 나은 성장과 지원을 위한 사회복지 정책･실천적 함의를 제안하였다.
