Next are some questions from the users “Bumper Car” and “Happy World”:
■In what areas are health statistics most widely used, and how can we access them?
■Are there any examples of health statistics being used in everyday life?
Health statistics are most commonly used to compare the health status of a population or the current state of a country’s healthcare system with those of other countries. Since all health statistics are publicly available, you can easily find them. Approximately 850 OECD health statistics items are all available on the OECD Data Explorer. However, using the OECD website for the first time can be a bit challenging. I remember struggling quite a bit myself when I first tried it. To help you avoid such difficulties, we have created a statistics platform for domestic users. Although it does not include all the data, we have selected about 50 of the most frequently used indicators and uploaded them to KIHASA’s Health and Welfare Data Portal. I hope this will make it much easier for you to find the information you need.
