Ryu:
Our research provides the government, the National Assembly, and national policy committees with evidence to inform their decision-making on policy. Our work is sometimes reflected directly in national plans, such as the government’s Basic Plans.
Kim:
First of all, we conduct a number of major in-house surveys. For example, we carry out long-term panel studies such as the Korea Welfare Panel Study, the Korea Health Panel Study, and the Family and Fertility Panel Study. These datasets are made accessible to any researchers who might need them through our Health and Welfare Data Portal in the form of microdata. Such data is collected through participant interviews, expert consultations, and discussion sessions.
