KIM Heenyun:
First of all, the most important thing is whether a policy truly improves people’s lives and whether it actually reaches those who need it.
Second, we need to ask whether something good can really be sustained over time. If a policy can answer these questions with “yes,” then we can say “This is a good policy.”
Kim Ji-Min:
In the past, issues such as child abuse or elder care were considered the sole responsibility of the affected families, and people generally refrained from getting involved in other families’ affairs. However, as society has changed, it has become increasingly difficult for individuals to shoulder these responsibilities alone, leading to a greater emphasis on social accountability. In this context, I believe that KIHASA has made valuable contributions by putting these issues on the public agenda, sharing examples of how other countries have addressed similar challenges, and helping to develop policies to improve child protection systems and establish integrated community care.
