On January 2, KIHASA held a New Year's Kickoff Meeting for 2024 at the Sejong Conference Room. The meeting was held as the first in-person New Year's Kickoff meeting since the Covid-19 pandemic, with the meeting being held online as well on Zoom. At the meeting, directors of research and administrative departments and groups made well-wishing remarks and New Year's resolutions. This was followed by President Lee Taesoo's New Year's Speech entitled "KIHASA in 2024?: Let Us Usher in the Era of KIHASA 4.0," in which he called for a new turning point for KIHASA as a top social policy think tank that generates the best policy alternatives to lead and guide the path of the Korean welfare state and produces and analyzes policy statistics of the highest quality.
