KIHASA, Yonsei University, and Inha University Begin Collaborating on Welfare State Research

KIHASA, Yonsei University, and Inha University signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Collaboration in Welfare State Research

  • They will organize joint research projects, seminars, and Welfare State Research Networks on the Korean Welfare State.

KIHASA will sign a memorandum of understanding with Yonsei University and Inha University on Friday November 5th at 9:30 a.m. for  collaboration in welfare state research.

The parties signing this MOU are sharing the view that laying the groundwork for building up a Korean welfare state model that can thrive in the rapidly chaniging socioeconomic environment after covid-19 requires an enhanced collaboration among welfare state researchers and academicians.

At the MOU signing ceremony were present Lee Tae Soo, president of KIHASA, Choi Young-joon, professor and director of the Center for Welfare State Research at Yonsei University and professor Yun Hong-sik, also director of the Welfare State Restructuring Center at Inha University. 

The main contents of the MOU include jointly conducting research on welfare state; operating welfare state research networks, and jointly holding international conferences on welfare state to build a Korean welfare state model. Each institution intends to promote cooperative work efficiently by formaing a working group in which the heads of departments in charge of welfare state research at each institution participate. 

After the signing ceremony, the first seminar organized by the welfare state research network for this year will take place, to be attended by by KIHASA research fellow Jeong Hong-won, associate research fellow Kim Ki-tae, Dongguk University professor Lee Ju-ha, Incheon University professor Lee Young-soo, Inha University professor Yoon Hong-sik, Hoseo University professor Kim Seong-wook, and Yonsei University professor Choi Young-joon.

In the future, each institution will continue to seek cooperative measures for forward-looking welfare state research to lay the groundwork for realizing the Korean welfare state in the fast chaning socioeconomic environment afte covid-19.
