KIHASA and KHIS Ink Memorandum of Understanding

On Monday, May 26, at 1:30 p.m., KIHASA and the Korea Health Information Service (KHIS, President Yeom Min-seop) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Sejong Conference Hall on the 5th floor of KIHASA to establish a cooperative framework for the production and utilization of public health information.

This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations on projects and research involving public health information. Areas of cooperation include the production and use of high-quality health data, the promotion of public health, the enhancement of health policy efficiency, and the advancement of digital transformation.


According to the MOU, the two organizations, with a commitment to sustained collaboration and exchange, will focus on key areas of collaboration including:

  •  Cooperating in data production and utilization for digital transformation in the health and welfare sectors;

  • Promoting health and improving policy efficiency through the use of public health information;

  • Conducting joint research and co-hosting academic events;

  • Facilitating exchange of research materials, publications, and knowledge resources.

The signing ceremony was attended by the following participants: From KIHASA―President Shin Young-seok, Vice President Park Se-kyung, Director of Research Planning and Coordination Ryu Jeong-hee, Director of Universal Health Coverage Policy Research Kang Hee-chung, and Director of Healthcare Policy Research Shin Hyun-woong. From KHIS―President Yeom Min-seop, Head of Management Planning Shin Je-su, Head of Health Information Business Choi Dong-jin, and Head of Health Data Promotion Kim Jong-deok participated. All participants expressed a strong commitment to strengthening collaboration between the two organizations.


KIHASA President Shin Young-seok stated, The Korea Health Information Service is an institution that holds a wealth of evidence-based information. As an organization that leads policy agendas, KIHASA hopes that, through this agreement, the strategic utilization of public health information will contribute to the formulation of effective health policies and the promotion of public health.” He added, “We also hope that both institutions will cooperate to drive the digital transformation of the health and welfare sectors.”

 

KHIS President Yeom Min-seop said, KIHASA is a top policy think tank. We believe that our organizations share similar policy objectives at a macro level. This MOU will greatly help to activate research for health promotion and policy efficiency using public health information.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen our cooperative relationship with KIHASA.”
