Major social changes after COVID-19 have begun digital transformation in earnest in line with the spread of non-face- to-face and remote cultures, and the role of the bio sector is growing. In addition, a science and technology policy was announced to turn the enormous environmental changes and crises into opportunities after COVID-19.
Digital technology has been newly developed and applied in response to the changes in the environment of the times. The technology before COVID-19 was used to lead and create markets and social changes, and to solve the social problems, while the technology after COVID-19 promotes technology development with such purposes as developing non-face-to-face society and risk preparation.
This study has examined major environmental changes in the health and welfare field for the level and current status of digital technology application thereof. By reviewing the considerations if digital technology can be applied well to the health and welfare field, we intend to prepare a response strategy to cope with the rapid changes and to prepare for the future society.
