The Korea Health Panel Survey (KHP) is a nationally representative survey of health care utilization and expenditures for the Korean population. KHP began in 2008 and has been administered by a consortium between the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) and the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS).
The KHP provides not only information on health care untilization and expenditures, but also various factors affecting health care use such as socioeconomic characteristics, comorbidities, and health behaviors.
This report includes descriptive statistics on comorbidities, healthcare utilization and expenditures, patient experiences, unmet health care needs, and health behaviors of 13,530 individuals from 6,190 households in 2020. This report provides empirical evidence to better understand healthcare utilization and expenditures of Korean population.
